OMG. Is that date right?
Where did the year go? Christmas starting to invade the airwaves.
Well it is here now and here the season has started.
First boat from the Med is on the dock at Isle de Sol and it is not Sunrise this year, Four Wishes has beaten them to the starting blocks. They arrived in after having an excellent crossing, to a soggy, water logged St. Maarten. Roads had turned to rivers.
If the squalls had been Rum they would all not have noticed the wet. Boats have been following them in and getting started for the 2011 season new builds, old captains and new captains and crew, old and new.
Work has commenced and stock is on the shelves. We are ready for your arrival.
We have expanded our shop for this season, we now take up the whole top floor, so you can’t miss us. We have been asked to take on more services, services being, crew placement, day-workers, arrival and departure assistance, clearances, bookings, freight forwarding, event planning and not to forget your day to day shopping which saves you from having to fight the traffic in our congested roads. We are stocked with all the products you need to keep the boat shipshape and your favorites, the ones you know and trust. We also have a lot of new ones……..
Under Albert’s direction our Fire Safety Maintenance and Services is continuing to expand, as is our strong affiliation with Sea Coast Fire of Miami, so that we are able to offer you a greater and fuller service right here in St. Maarten. All work now to Lloyds, MCS and USCG standards and certifications.
We welcome Junior to our team, he will be the strong young man who will be assisting us girls in the office, delivering you your products, shopping and driving Smiley around and taking some of the workload.
We started our off season in May with a wedding. Our eldest Brad and Tara tied the knot and made it all official. We had the wedding in Dominica at River-Rush. What a fairyland. It was a great success and they have now moved to Dominica to take up residence. Our Other son Tyrel also got married to Heather this off season but, this was done quietly in South Carolina. Otherwise we have been on this rock St. Maarten chilling and doing projects on the crew-house, which is almost full with new crew ready and biting at the bit for work. So do not forget to ask us for crew.
We went to Fort Lauderdale to attend the boat show which was very successful although as usual a lot of hard work. Met suppliers and friends and of course lots of crew, many who are part of our extended family. Rose joined us for the show and had her first taste of FIBS. We had several Braai’s (BBQ ) for friends and giving us time to catch-up. A good break and great boat show.
So welcome home and have a great 2011 season in the Caribbean.
